CALL FOR ARTISTS: MAKING AMERICA

Shoebox Arts is seeking handmade artwork depicting the American flag for an ongoing exhibition.

THE CONCEPT

There's something powerful about our hands creating the flag. This show is about taking back the flag - honoring what America can be through the act of making it ourselves. Your interpretation, your hands, your voice matter.

We'll fill the walls at Shoebox over the next few months and hold community gatherings every 2-3 weeks to bring our friends together around this work.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Handmade artwork only (no photography)

Subject: The American flag in any interpretive form

Any medium except photography

Primarily seeking LA-based artists, but open to submissions from elsewhere

Free to submit

SALES & PROCEEDS

50% to artist

40% to Shoebox Arts

10% to charity supporting those in need right now

DEADLINE

Rolling basis until the walls are filled. Submit anytime.
