News you can use...

As a working artist, I have many ideas. I am pulled in many directions.

There is so much information, so many events, so little time...

How does everyone do it?!

I strive to make things as clear, efficient, transparent as I can for myself, my artists, friends and our community. I understand sometimes, it can still be too much.

I make lists. To do lists. Schedule lists. Idea lists. Art supply lists. Art event lists. Workshop lists. Future lists. Past lists...

Then I forgot to look at them.

But I continue to do it. They say writing can rewire the brain.

I am a writer in the sense, I would rather write than type. (Even though I can get my thoughts out faster when I type)

The act of moving a pen, pencil, some type of instrument across a paper can enhance memory and recall, boost critical thinking and self-reflection skills and help manage emotions and increase self-awareness.

My list below started from writing down my ideas...

I have post-its with notes, pads of paper with scribbles, ideas written on empty envelopes.

COMING SOON

One of the key worries for artists right now is money.

Selling art.

Pricing art.

How to survive as an artist today.

Applying for Grants.

How to build a sustainable practice as an artist.

I am going to put together a Shoebox Lab focused on artists and money.

I would love your input.

What are your key concerns focused on money.

Share in comments.

If you are interested in the lab or any of our workshops sign up to our workshop email list.
