Shoebox Spring Membership Sale — 20% Off

April is here and things are hard right now. Economically, politically, emotionally — it's a lot. I feel it too.
And I keep coming back to the same thing I've seen over and over in this community: the artists who have support get through the hard times. Not unscathed, not without struggle, but through. Community and investing in your practice — that's not a luxury. That's infrastructure.
So this month I'm offering 20% off the first payment of any Shoebox Arts membership plan.
Use code Spring20 at checkout.
That's it. A real discount because it feels like a good time to lower the barrier a little.
So what is Shoebox Arts, actually?
I started it in 2014 because I needed it to exist. I was navigating the art world mostly alone — trying to figure out how to get shows, how to talk about my work, how to price things, how to even understand what "the art world" was. I had an MA in Art History and Studio Art from CSUN. I knew all this theory. I didn't know how to run an art career.
Nobody taught us that part.
So I built the thing I wished existed. A community where artists could learn the business stuff without shame, get real feedback on their work, and actually know each other — not just follow each other on Instagram.
I'm an artist, a curator, a mentor, and a writer. I write about being an artist — the real stuff, the messy stuff, the things nobody talks about — over on Substack at shoeboxarts dot substack dot com. And apparently people call me "The Great Connector." That last one makes me laugh a little but also — yeah, that's what I do. I connect people. Artists to opportunities, artists to each other, artists to their own confidence. I've been doing this for over a decade now and I'm still learning how to do it better, which is kind of the whole point.
What you actually get as a member:
Every week, there's something happening.
Monday 11am PST — Open Forum Q&A. Bring your questions, your stuck points, your "is this normal??" moments. Nothing is too small.
Wednesdays 11am PST — Art Book Club, Accountability, Special Topic, and Co-working sessions. Something different each week, all of it useful.
Every month on the 2nd Sunday — Critique Group. Small, focused, real feedback from people who are genuinely invested in your growth.
Plus guest speakers (working artists, curators, gallerists sharing how they actually do things), accountability partnerships, studio visit exchanges, artist spotlights, and a resource library with pricing guides, grant lists, contract templates, social media guides — things I've built over years that I just hand you.
And direct access to me. Not a bot. Not a coaching assistant. Me. I know your name. I remember what you're working on.
Monthly: $97 | 3 Months: $267 | 6 Months: $487
With code Spring20, your first payment is 20% off. So that's $77.60 to start instead of $97, or $213.60 for three months instead of $267. Real savings.
This community is full of artists at every stage — painters, sculptors, photographers, digital artists, people who've been showing for 20 years and people who just started. That mix is actually the point. Everyone brings something.
If you've been thinking about joining for a while and just haven't done it yet — this is a good excuse.
Sign up at https://www.shoeboxarts.com/membership and use code Spring20 at checkout. Offer valid through April 30th.
